VSSL Powers Faster Setup and Easier Management with New App and Firmware
VSSL, a global provider of premium audio streaming devices, is excited to announce the latest release of the VSSL mobile application, version 1.3, for both iOS and Android platforms. This app is now available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The release of this new application was accompanied by a simultaneous OTA firmware update for both the SX Soundbar and the SX Speaker. These releases represent significant milestones for VSSL, with new features and improvements designed to enhance the user experience.
Key Updates and Features:
1. Google Cast 2.0 Certification:
The new application and firmware were co-developed to achieve Google Cast 2.0 certification, enabling the fastest setup time to date plus more reliable streaming capabilities across all SX Series devices thanks to this new underlying protocol.
2. Faster Setup Process:
This updated protocol dramatically reduces setup times by 50% or more, depending upon individual network configurations. This improvement ensures a quicker and smoother installation process that all VSSL users will appreciate.
3. Improved Usability & Platform Compatibility
In addition to the improvements in setup, the new VSSL application simplifies overall usability, adding new features such as "Tap to Scan” for new device discovery. Version 1.3 also incorporates music streaming metadata to detail specifics within each VSSL zone such as artist, song, album including album art, and streaming service. To ensure compatibility with the latest mobile devices, the new VSSL app has also been thoroughly tested to ensure support for both iOS 18 and Android 15.
4. Potential Reconfiguration to Support New Protocol
Due to the installation of the new underlying protocol required for the certification, some users may need to reconfigure their SX devices or surround sound environments after the update. While many setups may return to normal operation automatically, others might require reconfiguration. Although this behavior is network dependent and varies by environment, this is a one-time event with any reconfiguration significantly faster and easier thanks to the newly improved setup process.
