Roon and VSSL Now Compatible

July 6, 2018

Roon now has Chromecast support!

Roon has released a new update, v. 1.5, which includes support for Chromecast. Roon is a music service that is said to bring joy and excitement back into music listening. Now that Chromecast is supported, it opens a new world to those who have VSSL. With VSSL you will be able to enjoy all the features of Roon throughout your home.

What is Roon?

Roon is a music player that takes all the music that you have collected over the many years and supercharges them with all the data that they have collected about the various artists and songs that you own.
“The core manages your music collection from many sources, and builds an interconnected digital library using enhanced information from Roon.” https://roonlabs.com/howroonworks.html
They want to bring back the excitement that we once had of holding a tangible record cover or riffling through the insert that came with your CD’s.
“Roon looks at your music and finds photos, bios, reviews, lyrics, and concert dates to make connections between artists, composers, performers, conductors, and producers.
What you get is a searchable, surfable magazine about your music.”

Roon + VSSL

Now that Roon supports Chromecast we can make the connection between VSSL and Roon. VSSL has been using Chromecast from the beginning, and now VSSL users will be able to use the Roon music player to play their favorite tunes throughout their house. With Roon and VSSL you now have one more way to get the music you want in the place you want it.
If you use Roon for your music service, tell us what you think of it!
